Keith Dede
Keith Dede, Professor of Chinese
Keith specializes in language and linguistics, and has written about the influence of Mongolic and Tibetan languages on the development of local varieties of Chinese and, more generally, about how languages can inform our understanding of the history of communities in contact. He has been the recipient of a number of awards and fellowships including a Fulbright Scholar grant from the Council for International Exchange of Scholars and a grant from the U.S. Department of Education’s Fulbright-Hays Faculty Research Abroad Program. Keith coordinates Lewis & Clark’s student overseas programs in China, and has over 30 years of experience traveling in Asia, including to Inner Mongolia.
