Georgia has a long history of bountiful table traditions. Savor the regional
varietals in Georgian wine country, Kakheti, and admire the soaring
peaks along the Georgian Military Highway.
Days 1-2: Tbilisi
Admire Tbilisi's Metekhi Church, 6th century Anchiskhati
Basilica and the Georgian treasury. Visit a small studio devoted to batik dying techniques
and sample some of Georgia's wonderful wines.
Days 3-4: Signagi
Explore David Gareja cave monastery, walk the narrow
streets of Signagi and visit 9th century Bodbe Nunnery.
Days 5-6: Gudauri, Ananuri, Kazbegi
Drive through Kakheti to the
Georgian Military Highway and the mountain village of Gudauri. Along the way,
savor a wine-tasting at Tsinindali Village. Stop at the feudal stronghold of Ananuri
and visit alpine Kazbegi.
Days 7-8: Gori, Mtskheta, Tbilisi
Tour Stalin's hometown, Gori, and then
explore UNESCO-listed Mtskheta, capital of the early kingdom of Iberia. Back in
Tbilisi, toast the incredible country of Georgia at a sumptuous farewell dinner.
